An update from Gemfields Group ( (PLLHF) ) is now available.

Gemfields has warned shareholders that it expects to report a loss for 2025, although its performance will show a marked improvement on the prior year. The miner cited operational disruptions at its flagship Montepuez ruby and Kagem emerald operations, delays in commissioning the second processing plant at Montepuez and a mixed auction performance as key factors weighing on output, cash generation and auction revenues, which totalled just USD 129 million.

Despite these setbacks, Gemfields expects its loss per share to narrow to 2.6 U.S. cents from 7.0 U.S. cents, with headline loss per share also improving, reflecting some benefit from cost discipline and firmer pricing for higher-quality stones. Management has set 2026 priorities of stabilising operations, methodically ramping up the new ruby plant, maintaining strict cost and capital discipline and focusing on deleveraging to strengthen the balance sheet, moves that will be closely watched by investors ahead of the full-year results on 26 March.
