GCM Resources ( (GB:GCM) ) has provided an update.
GCM Resources reported an interim loss after tax of £1.012m for the six months to 31 December 2025, with lower administrative expenses and continued capitalised pre-development spending, while bolstering liquidity through two post-period equity placings that raised about £2.25m. The company also extended its memorandum of understanding with PowerChina to December 2027 and refined the engineering, procurement and construction scope for the Phulbari project.
Management stressed that the Phulbari mine remains development-ready and could meet a significant share of Bangladesh’s coal power demand at a time when geopolitical turmoil in the Middle East has underscored the country’s vulnerability to imported fuel shocks. With the Bangladesh Nationalist Party winning the February 2026 election on a platform that favours greater use of domestic energy resources, GCM is prioritising engagement with the new government, preserving project readiness and tightly managing costs and liquidity as it seeks to align Phulbari with evolving national energy security policy.
The most recent analyst rating on (GB:GCM) stock is a Hold with a £8.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on GCM Resources stock, see the GB:GCM Stock Forecast page.
Spark’s Take on GCM Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, GCM is a Neutral.
The score is held down primarily by weak fundamentals (no revenue, ongoing losses, and sustained cash burn), partially offset by a relatively sturdy balance sheet and strong current technical momentum. Valuation is also a limiting factor due to negative earnings and no stated dividend yield.
