Furukawa Co., Ltd. has announced its commitment to reducing CO2 emissions by 25% by 2030 from the 2023 levels, with an ultimate goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The company plans to invest around ¥2 billion, funded by the sale of strategic shareholdings, to transition to electric forklifts, more efficient energy systems, and renewable energy sources. This initiative exceeds the Japanese government’s industrial sector reduction target, aiming for a 39.1% reduction based on estimated 2013 emissions.
