Founders Metals ( (TSE:FDR) ) has issued an announcement.

Founders Metals has reported a high-grade gold discovery from the first-ever drillhole at the Antino North area of its Antino Gold Project in southeastern Suriname. The hole intersected 24.6 metres grading 2.81 grams per tonne gold from 1.5 metres down hole, including a higher-grade core of 3.6 metres at 17.22 grams per tonne, confirming significant near-surface mineralization in an area that had never previously been drill tested.

The discovery validates Antino North as a new mineralized centre within Founders’ district-scale land package, where twelve parallel shear zones have been mapped over a combined 5.3 kilometres of strike and more than 4,500 auger samples have been collected this year. With a second drill now turning on an undrilled kilometre-scale anomaly and a ~3,500 metre phase-one program under way, the results strengthen the company’s view that Antino hosts a major gold system and underscore the exploration upside for stakeholders.

The mineralization at Antino North occurs in multiple shear zones with geological characteristics similar to those at Upper Antino, suggesting continuity of the broader gold system across the project area. This first drill-tested zone on the newly acquired Antino North concession, located about 20 kilometres from Upper Antino, supports Founders Metals’ strategy of delineating multiple gold centres within its Suriname portfolio and could enhance its competitive positioning among junior gold explorers in the Guiana Shield.

The most recent analyst rating on (TSE:FDR) stock is a Sell with a C$4.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Founders Metals stock, see the TSE:FDR Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on FDR Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, FDR is a Neutral.

The score is weighed down primarily by weak financial performance (no revenue, widening losses, and accelerating cash burn), with technicals also bearish as the stock trades below major moving averages. A debt-free balance sheet and higher equity provide some support, but the negative P/E and lack of dividend reflect an unprofitable profile.
