Frontier Resources Limited ( (AU:FUN) ) has provided an announcement.
Fortuna Metals has confirmed an extensive high-grade rutile discovery at its Mkanda project in Malawi, with new results from 35 of 675 hand-auger holes showing multiple mineralised zones from surface to around 10 metres depth, many still open at depth and laterally. Only 45 drill holes have been assayed so far, yet the company reports consistently strong rutile grades over large areas, and is using this first-pass program to rapidly delineate the highest-grade rutile and graphite zones for step-out and aircore drilling in 2026, underlining Mkanda’s potential to host a substantial resource adjacent to the world-class Kasiya deposit. In parallel, Fortuna is assessing graphite, rare earth monazite and zircon potential to enhance project economics, commissioning an in-country assay laboratory in Lilongwe to speed turnaround times, and engaging investors at industry conferences, positioning itself as an emerging supplier of high-grade rutile for titanium metal amid anticipated structural demand growth from advanced manufacturing and robotics.
