Frontier Resources Limited ( (AU:FUN) ) has shared an announcement.
Fortuna Metals has commenced a metallurgical bulk sampling and test work program at its Mkanda rutile and graphite project in Malawi, sending a 5-tonne sample to Mineral Technologies in Johannesburg to produce a rutile concentrate exceeding 95% titanium. The program will inform mining studies on shallow high-grade mineralisation and refine a flowsheet that also assesses graphite and rare earth potential, supporting feasibility work and mine planning.
With 675 drill holes completed and extensive shallow assays still pending, Fortuna is using selective assaying of high-grade areas to accelerate a potential maiden inferred resource estimate in the second half of 2026. Management has also been active in investor and offtake marketing at major African mining conferences, positioning the project for early offtake discussions in the titanium sponge market and a busy drilling campaign through the first half of 2026.
