FortifAI has reported benchmark tests showing its Nol8 AI Data Plane delivering a more than 200,000-fold throughput advantage over Google’s widely used RE2 pattern-matching engine under high-complexity, AI-grade workloads. Nol8 maintained a constant 1,500 MB/s throughput across all complexity tiers, while RE2’s performance dropped sharply as rule complexity and load increased, suggesting Nol8 may have broken a long-standing scalability ceiling in AI data processing.
The company positions these results as validation of its FPGA-accelerated architecture, which processes data in parallel at the hardware level and avoids the performance degradation seen in traditional software-based systems. FortifAI plans further benchmarks and an enterprise-ready benchmarking engine by June 2026, with ongoing work to translate throughput gains into quantified reductions in hardware, computation and infrastructure needs for enterprise AI customers.
