An update from IPB Petroleum Ltd. ( (AU:FEL) ) is now available.
Forte Energy Limited has cemented a major foothold in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve by completing the acquisition of Peritas LLC, adding 143,368 acres across 13 oil and gas leases to its portfolio. The company also received confirmation that its 2026 lease fees, estimated at about US$430,000, have been suspended, reducing near‑term costs and allowing more capital to be directed toward technical and commercial studies.
During the quarter, Forte was named the highest bidder on two additional NPR‑A leases totaling about 13,220 acres near its Umiat acreage, interpreted as hosting an extension of the Umiat Oil Field and a downdip structural prospect with strong AVO anomalies. The company has begun detailed evaluation of the Harrier Prospect, which has been assessed as having potential for more than 1 billion barrels of recoverable resources, and has started a review of Umiat’s commercialisation options, moves that collectively enhance its exploration portfolio and strategic positioning on the North Slope.
Shareholders also approved a change of name to Forte Energy Limited and endorsed all resolutions at a February general meeting. The latest federal lease sale, which attracted around US$250 million in bids from major players including Repsol, Shell, ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil, underscores heightened industry interest in the region and reinforces the strategic value of Forte’s expanded acreage base.
