Formation Metals has reported strong initial assay results from the first four holes of its ongoing 14,000-metre Phase 1 drill program at the N2 Gold Project, 25 kilometres south of Matagami, Quebec. The company highlighted wide, near-surface intercepts including 1.75 g/t gold over 30.4 metres and 0.91 g/t gold over 42.3 metres, which validate historical drilling and enhance confidence in the existing geological model.
Management said the results demonstrate improved grade continuity and shallow mineralization relative to historic averages, underscoring the potential for a high-grade bulk tonnage system and an eventual open-pit resource. With 24 holes totaling 7,968 metres completed and nine holes pending, Formation is using two drill rigs to infill and expand known zones, aiming to grow resources, strengthen project economics and deliver a maiden mineral resource estimate for N2 after Phase 1.
