An update from First Phosphate Corp. ( (TSE:PHOS) ) is now available.
First Phosphate Corp., a Québec-based mineral exploration and clean tech company targeting the lithium iron phosphate battery market, has secured conditional approval for a non-repayable contribution of up to C$16.7 million from the Government of Canada through Natural Resources Canada’s Global Partnerships Initiative. The funding will support technical and engineering studies to validate production of battery-grade phosphate concentrate and high-purity phosphoric acid for the LFP battery supply chain.
The project focuses on developing a scalable Canadian process to convert apatite into battery-grade materials, reducing reliance on foreign supply chains and reinforcing Canada’s strategic role in critical minerals. The work, tied to the company’s integrated phosphate concentrate project in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and aligned with offtaker requirements, is expected to generate skilled jobs and potentially underpin a domestic phosphoric acid facility, deepening Canada’s integration into global battery material supply chains.
The most recent analyst rating on (TSE:PHOS) stock is a Buy with a C$1.59 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on First Phosphate Corp. stock, see the TSE:PHOS Stock Forecast page.
