First Graphene Ltd ( (AU:FGR) ) has provided an announcement.
First Graphene has completed a five-month, world-first production trial of graphene-enhanced cement roof tiles with UK precast concrete specialist FP McCann, producing more than 10,000 tiles using 40 tonnes of PureGRAPH-enhanced cement. The tiles achieved up to a 14% cradle-to-gate reduction in carbon emissions and required up to 8% less cement, while matching the strength of conventional CEM I-based products.
The trial confirmed that graphene-enhanced CEM II cement can deliver equivalent roof tile performance with fewer materials and lower costs, and FP McCann will now deploy the tiles in new buildings at its Cadeby site. Backed by UK government innovation programs and aligned with plans to build more than one million affordable, sustainable homes, the results strengthen First Graphene’s entry into a global cement roof tile market forecast to grow to US$11.8 billion by 2034 and support broader adoption of lower-carbon construction materials.
