First Andes Silver ( (TSE:FAS) ) has shared an announcement.

First Andes Silver has secured three exploration licences in New South Wales, Australia, giving it full exploration rights over the Carrington, Stony Creek and Dartmoor silver-focused projects in the prolific Lachlan Orogenic Belt. The combined 454 km² land package covers historic silver-gold and polymetallic mines, with the company preparing soil, stream sediment and rock-chip sampling as the first phase of a modern exploration program.

Carrington hosts an iron-rich skarn system with historic rock-chip samples showing high grades of gold, silver, lead and antimony, supported by geophysics indicating more than 10 km of prospective strike. This project could materially enhance First Andes’ exposure to high-grade skarn mineralization in a structurally favourable setting.

Stony Creek encompasses a corridor of Devonian volcanic rocks hosting at least seven historic silver-gold mines and prospects, including high-grade orogenic and epithermal-style vein systems associated with the Gundillion Fault. Historic workings and assays point to the potential for high-grade gold-silver shoots at depth, which modern exploration could better define.

Dartmoor contains two historic polymetallic mines of VHMS-Kuroko affinity, where reported small-scale production included extremely high silver and notable copper grades. First Andes plans to apply EM geophysics, geochemistry and drilling here, positioning the project as a potential source of massive sulphide Au-Ag-base metal lenses that could diversify and strengthen the company’s resource pipeline.
