The latest announcement is out from Mantaro Precious Metals ( (TSE:FAS) ).
First Andes Silver has identified a 1.3-by-2-kilometre zoned alteration cell at its Santas Gloria silver project in Peru using high-resolution WorldView-3 short-wavelength infrared mineral mapping, directly overlapping more than 5 kilometres of mapped but undrilled epithermal veins. The strongly zoned sericite- and hematite-rich core with surrounding clay and propylitic halos is consistent with a well-developed intermediate-sulphidation epithermal system and provides a high-resolution targeting layer for exploration. The company plans immediate follow-up work, including field validation of alteration boundaries, refined structural mapping, systematic sampling across the core-to-halo transition, and a Phase 2 soil sampling program set to start in March, alongside pending results from earlier soil surveys and ongoing metallurgical tests on silver leachability, all aimed at defining drill-ready targets and advancing the Santas Gloria district.
