Firering Strategic Minerals Plc has announced that its subsidiary, Limeco Resources, has been granted a new exploration license in Zambia, which could expand its Mineral Resource Estimate by 60 to 70 million tonnes, bolstering its quicklime production capabilities. With the first of eight kilns set for operation in Q4 2024, Limeco aims to support Zambia’s copper production goals by reducing reliance on imported quicklime and aiding the country’s target of increasing annual copper production to 3 million tonnes by 2030.
