On April 30, 2026, Exponent, Inc. reported strong first quarter 2026 results, with total revenues rising 14% year over year to $166.3 million and revenues before reimbursements up 10% to $151.8 million, while net income increased to $29.6 million, or $0.59 per diluted share. EBITDA grew to $43.1 million, or 28.4% of net revenues, supported by broad-based demand for its engineering and scientific services, particularly in user research for AI-enabled consumer electronics, utility risk management, and dispute-related and failure analysis work across construction, energy, and medical devices.

The company’s engineering and other scientific segment, which generated 85% of revenues before reimbursements, grew 12%, while the environmental and health segment, at 15% of revenues, grew 2%, aided by regulatory consulting in the chemical industry. During the quarter ended April 3, 2026, Exponent returned capital to shareholders by paying $16.6 million in dividends and repurchasing $78.8 million of stock, and on April 30, 2026 its board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.31 per share and expanded the share repurchase authorization by $50 million, signaling continued confidence in its growth trajectory and its positioning as a key adviser amid increasing adoption of AI and rising infrastructure and safety demands.
