eREX Co., Ltd. has commenced construction on two biomass power plants in Yen Bai and Tuyen Quang provinces in Vietnam, with the groundbreaking ceremony taking place on October 4, 2024. These plants are part of the 18 biomass power plant projects planned by the company in Vietnam and are in line with the country’s 8th National Power Development Plan, aiming for zero CO2 emissions by 2050. The project, supported by the Japanese government’s JCM Model Projects, promises to enhance local energy self-sufficiency, create jobs, and utilize local unused woody residues.
