Enea AB ( (SE:ENEA) ) has issued an update.

Enea opened 2026 with modest top-line growth but sharply higher profitability, as it leans into next-generation network software and security. The company reported first-quarter net sales of SEK 222.4 million, up 4 percent year-on-year, or 12.1 percent in constant currency, with adjusted EBITDA jumping to SEK 75 million and margin expanding to 33.7 percent, while earnings swung to a profit of SEK 18.6 million.

Management highlighted a 17 percent increase in its growth portfolio, led by strong signaling and messaging security sales, even as its more mature “classic” portfolio shrank 27 percent. New contracts included a five-year messaging security deal with a global CPaaS provider and a major traffic management win with a Tier-1 operator in MENA, though geopolitical tensions in the region delayed some customer investments, shifting revenue rather than eliminating it.

The group is also stepping up its go-to-market push, appointing Mathias Johansson as Chief Commercial Officer and bolstering its national security sales team to capture rising security-related spend. While operating cash flow softened to SEK 14.3 million and the company booked a SEK 25.7 million provision tied to U.S. PPP loan repayments, Enea’s improving margins and recognition for embedded security underscore its bid to strengthen its competitive position in high-growth, security-centric network software niches.
