Embraer S.A. has announced the sale of its A-29 Super Tucano aircraft to the Uruguayan Air Force, with Uruguay set to become the sixth South American country to deploy the versatile aircraft for missions ranging from border surveillance to advanced training. The deal involves an initial purchase and a commitment to acquire five more units, enhancing Uruguay’s defense capabilities and border control efficiency. The A-29 Super Tucano is recognized globally for its operational flexibility and cost-effectiveness, with over 260 orders and 570,000 flight hours logged, evidencing its growing popularity among air forces worldwide.
