Electrum Discovery ( (TSE:ELY) ) has provided an update.
Electrum Discovery has completed its merger with MinRex Resources via a statutory plan of arrangement, with MinRex acquiring all issued and outstanding Electrum shares and Electrum becoming a wholly owned subsidiary. Former Electrum security holders now own approximately 49.3% of the combined company, while existing MinRex shareholders hold around 50.7%, reflecting a near-equal ownership split that positions the merged entity as a more substantial player in gold and base metals exploration.
As part of the transaction, Electrum shares will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange and the OTC Venture Market, and the company will seek to cease being a reporting issuer in Canada, consolidating its capital markets presence under MinRex’s Australian listing. MinRex’s post-merger strategy is centered on scaling the high-grade Tlamino Gold Project in Serbia, advancing copper-gold targets such as Timok East, and progressing its Australian projects in the Lachlan Fold Belt, potentially enhancing exploration scale and geographic diversification for shareholders.
Spark’s Take on ELY Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, ELY is a Neutral.
The score is held back primarily by pre-revenue financial performance with widening losses and materially higher cash burn, which elevates ongoing funding risk despite a stronger 2024 balance sheet. Technicals are moderately supportive (above key longer-term moving averages and positive MACD), but valuation is constrained by negative earnings and no dividend data.
