Eden Innovations has appointed defence industry veteran Julie Bown as Strategic Advisor – Defence to support the growth of its EdenShield division, which aims to commercialise the company’s technologies for critical infrastructure and national security uses such as drones, data centres, bunkers, military bases, airports and hospitals. Bown, who has more than 30 years’ experience with major defence contractors Thales and Raytheon, will help align Eden’s products with operational requirements, deepen engagement with defence and government stakeholders, and advance commercialisation pathways at a time of heightened global conflict and rising demand from defence and infrastructure sectors.
The move is closely aligned with Australia’s National Defence Strategy and Integrated Investment Program, which prioritise more resilient, hardened Defence infrastructure and critical support systems. Eden’s board sees her appointment as pivotal to strengthening the company’s positioning in priority defence markets and converting its proven technologies into scalable programs that enhance infrastructure protection and operational resilience.
