Fitch Ratings has reaffirmed Ecopetrol S.A.’s credit rating at BB+ with a stable outlook, citing the company’s strong financial position, strategic significance in Colombia, and robust operating metrics. Despite potential asset acquisitions in the Permian Basin, Fitch does not foresee a significant impact on Ecopetrol’s credit profile. Ecopetrol, Colombia’s largest company, plays a dominant role in the country’s hydrocarbon production, logistics, and refining, and is expanding its presence in energy transmission and other sectors across the Americas.
