Ecofin U.S. Renewables Infrastructure Trust Plc ( (GB:RNEW) ) just unveiled an update.

Ecofin U.S. Renewables Infrastructure Trust has refinanced the back-leveraged term loans on its Beacon 2 and Beacon 5 solar projects through new facilities totaling about US$84.1 million, led by KeyBank and Société Générale. The refinancing extends maturity to April 2031 and shifts the debt to a mix of swapped and floating Term SOFR-based interest at a higher overall rate than the previous LIBOR-linked structure.

In tandem with the refinancing, the trust’s subsidiary and partners acquired Firstar Development’s remaining membership interests in the Beacon holding companies for roughly US$4.2 million, simplifying the projects’ capital structure. The company also contributed about US$2.7 million in equity as part of a wider US$5.4 million sponsor injection and signalled plans to announce its first return of capital via B shares, indicating a move toward capital distributions to shareholders.

Spark’s Take on RNEW Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, RNEW is a Neutral.

The score is driven down primarily by sharply deteriorating financial performance (large loss and steep revenue decline) and bearish technicals (below key moving averages with negative MACD). A debt-free balance sheet and a ~3.45% dividend yield provide partial support, but not enough to offset weak earnings and momentum.
