Penbar Capital Ltd. ( (TSE:EVI) ) has provided an update.
Eastport Critical Metals has reported encouraging visual results from Phase 1 diamond drilling at its Semarule rare earth project in Botswana, where core indicates features consistent with a carbonatite system alongside fenite alteration and thick calcite veining. A ground gravity survey further supports the presence of a subsurface carbonatite, with drilling testing both gravity highs and lows linked to analogues at African carbonatite deposits.
The company is also expanding surface bedrock sampling and plans an independent mineralogical and metallurgical study to assess rare earth deportment, recovery potential, and the viability of near-surface syenite material as a saleable product. The final two Phase 1 drill holes will directly target the centres of the gravity high and low, a key step in defining the geometry and potential scale of the carbonatite system, which could enhance Eastport’s position in the rare earth exploration space if results are positive.
