CVW CleanTech Unveils Rare Earth Recovery Project

CVW CleanTech Inc (TSE:CVW) has released an update.

CVW CleanTech has partnered with the University of Alberta to launch a research initiative aimed at extracting rare earth elements from oil sands waste, a move that could significantly contribute to Canada’s net-zero ambitions. The project focuses on producing commercial-grade monazite from tailings, which is crucial for manufacturing clean technologies like batteries and wind turbines, thereby enhancing Canada’s critical mineral supply chain and economic growth. Funded by NSERC and supported by InnoTech Alberta, the $1.4 million, three-year project expects to deliver early results within its first year and has the potential to boost Alberta’s GDP by 0.52%.
