Caerus Mineral Resources Plc ( (GB:CMRS) ) has provided an update.
Critical Mineral Resources is a U.K.-listed exploration and development company focused on critical minerals, led by its Agadir Melloul copper-silver project in Morocco. The company is targeting large-scale, sediment-hosted copper resources comparable to the nearby Tizert deposit and is pursuing a strategy of district-scale land consolidation and systematic drilling to underpin a mid-tier mining platform.
The company reported that diamond drilling at Agadir Melloul has reached a rate of about 1,200 metres per month, with visible copper mineralisation consistently intersected in line with its geological model. Recent and historical drill holes show shallow, continuous copper grades, and an internally defined drilling success rate of about 27%, well above prior expectations, supporting CMR’s medium-term exploration target of 25 million tonnes.
CMR remains on schedule to deliver a maiden JORC mineral resource estimate in the third quarter of 2026, which is expected to underpin initial mine development, subject to ongoing technical and economic studies. A detailed 2026 work programme is in place, covering metallurgical testwork, process flowsheet design, geotechnical investigations and environmental impact assessments for a planned processing plant.
Management sees additional upside from the discovery of sedimentary copper, a mineralised rhyolitic extrusion and gold-bearing zones, indicating potential for deeper copper-silver-gold systems and higher-grade vein structures. The Agadir Melloul joint venture’s growing land package, coupled with planned geophysical surveys and continued drilling, is intended to expand resources and enhance long-term project value for stakeholders.
The board, bolstered by a new chairman, is also reviewing additional Moroccan opportunities that could add depth to CMR’s growth pipeline. With assay results due regularly and feasibility work advancing, the project is positioned as a potential new copper hub in a region hosting one of North Africa’s largest copper deposits.
