Contact Energy Advances Renewable Strategy with Tesla Battery

Contact Energy Limited (COENF) has released an update.

Contact Energy Limited is set to bolster its renewable energy capabilities with a 100MW grid-scale battery at Glenbrook, aiming to be operational by Q1 2026 with an investment of up to $163m. The company has chosen Tesla to supply and maintain the Megapack 2 XL battery system, with provisions to increase capacity if needed. This development is a key part of Contact’s strategy to enhance electricity flexibility and support New Zealand’s transition to a low-carbon future.
