Compagnie Financière Tradition Delivers Double-Digit Q1 2026 Growth on Strong Interdealer Broking

Story Highlights
  • Compagnie Financière Tradition posted strong Q1 2026 revenue growth, with total revenue including joint ventures up 17.4% at constant exchange rates and driven mainly by its interdealer broking operations.
  • Management flagged that favourable foreign exchange base effects, particularly the earlier strength of the U.S. dollar versus the Swiss franc, amplified early-2026 growth figures but are likely to diminish if currencies stabilise, potentially moderating reported performance.

Compagnie Financiere Tradition SA ( (CH:CFT) ) has provided an update.

Compagnie Financière Tradition SA, a major global interdealer broker in financial and commodity-related products, operates in more than 30 countries and serves institutional clients with broking and data services across a wide spectrum of financial instruments and energy and environmental markets. The company employs over 2,500 people worldwide and is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, positioning it as a key player in wholesale financial markets.

The group reported strong first-quarter 2026 performance, with consolidated revenue including its share of joint ventures rising 17.4% at constant exchange rates to CHF 339.7 million, or 5.5% at current rates. Growth was driven primarily by the interdealer broking business, which advanced 17.6% at constant exchange rates, while management highlighted that a notable currency base effect, particularly involving the U.S. dollar against the Swiss franc, boosted year-on-year growth in early 2026 but is expected to fade as the year progresses if exchange rates stabilise.

Reported IFRS revenue increased 18.5% at constant exchange rates and 6.6% at current rates to CHF 314.2 million, underscoring resilient underlying activity despite currency headwinds. The retail-focused non-interdealer segment saw a small decline in reported revenue but still posted double-digit growth at constant exchange rates, suggesting that the group’s core wholesale franchise remains the chief engine of expansion while overall results remain sensitive to foreign exchange movements that could temper reported growth later in the year.
