The latest announcement is out from Coloured Ties Capital ( (TSE:TIE) ).
Coloured Ties Capital Inc., one of the largest shareholders of Labrador Gold Corp., and its principal Kulwant (Kal) Malhi have filed a defamation lawsuit in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against Labrador Gold and all members of its board. The claim stems from a February 2, 2026 shareholder letter that was used in a proxy campaign and allegedly portrayed the plaintiffs as dishonest actors and a threat to shareholder property.
The statement of claim alleges that Labrador Gold knowingly disseminated false and defamatory statements, accompanied by inflammatory imagery that depicted Malhi removing money from a vault under the headline “MALHICIOUS INTENT.” Coloured Ties and Malhi are seeking an injunction to prevent any further publication of the material and are pursuing general, special, aggravated, and punitive damages, framing the action as a test of truth, accountability, and acceptable conduct in contested public-company proxy battles.
