An update from CleanTech Lithium PLC ( (GB:CTL) ) is now available.
CleanTech Lithium has begun a second-stage trial in North America to convert concentrated eluate from its Chilean direct lithium extraction pilot plant into battery-grade lithium carbonate for the Laguna Verde project. Now processed at Empower EIT’s new Dallas facility using DuPont nanofiltration membranes, the campaign will treat more than 60 cubic metres of eluate, targeting around 300 kilograms of lithium carbonate in the second quarter of 2026 for independent quality verification and testing by potential strategic partners.
In parallel, the company is running a smaller pilot programme with Lanshen Technology in Santiago that mirrors the Laguna Verde pre-feasibility study flowsheet, processing 24 cubic metres of feed brine into over 5 kilograms of battery-grade product. Together, these trials are designed to validate and optimise the PFS process design, test key materials and assumptions such as DLE module capacity and water consumption, and strengthen CTL’s technical case as it seeks to engage strategic investors and advance its Chilean projects toward development.
Spark’s Take on CTL Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, CTL is a Neutral.
The score is held down primarily by weak financial performance: the company is still pre-revenue with growing losses and ongoing negative operating and free cash flow, implying continued reliance on external funding despite only moderate leverage. This is partially offset by strong technical momentum, with the share price above all key moving averages and supportive MACD/RSI readings. Valuation remains constrained by the negative P/E and lack of dividend yield.
