In its second quarter 2025 earnings report, Clarivate Plc announced a continued acceleration in organic Annual Contract Value (ACV) and recurring organic revenue growth, alongside a reaffirmation of its 2025 outlook. The company also highlighted its strategic move of repurchasing 11.5 million ordinary shares during the quarter.
Key financial metrics revealed a total revenue of $621.4 million for the second quarter of 2025, a decrease from $650.3 million in the same period of 2024, attributed to inorganic divestitures and disposals. However, organic revenues saw a slight increase of 0.5%, driven by a 0.8% rise in organic recurring revenues. The net loss for the quarter was significantly reduced to $72.0 million from $304.3 million in the previous year, while adjusted EBITDA stood at $261.6 million, down from $274.4 million.
The company generated $287.5 million in operating cash flow and $160.6 million in free cash flow for the first half of 2025. Despite a decrease in total revenues for the first half of the year, Clarivate maintained a strong focus on cost management and strategic initiatives to drive performance improvements.
Looking ahead, Clarivate remains optimistic about its future performance, with management confident that enhancements to the sales operating model and AI advancements in the IP business will support profitability and value creation. The company continues to project revenues between $2.28 billion and $2.40 billion for the full year 2025.
