Chorus Limited ( (CHRUF) ) just unveiled an announcement.

Chorus reported a robust half-year result for the six months to 31 December 2025, driven by continued fibre growth, efficiency gains and tight capital discipline as it advances its strategy to become a simplified all-fibre business. Total operating revenue rose to $506 million, fibre broadband revenue increased 7% to $387 million, and EBITDA grew 3% to $357 million, with net profit after tax improving to $15 million from a loss a year earlier.

Fibre connections increased by about 31,000 to 1.13 million, now representing 95% of total fixed connections, while fibre uptake reached 72.4% of serviceable addresses outside local fibre company areas. Copper connections fell by roughly 60,000 year on year, with only 3,000 remaining in Chorus fibre areas and full withdrawal expected by mid-2026, underscoring the company’s shift to fibre as rising data usage and device numbers support its long-term growth outlook.

The company also highlighted improving customer trends, with more than 80% of fibre users on 500Mbps or faster plans and about a quarter on gigabit-plus services, supported by a nationwide speed boost that raised base plan speeds to 100Mbps and 500Mbps. Chorus declared an interim dividend of 24 cents per share, up 4% on the prior period, signalling confidence in cash generation as it enters the next phase of growth, simplicity and efficiency in its fibre-led strategy.
