In the first quarter of 2025, China Railway Group reported a decline in revenue and net profit compared to the same period last year. The company’s revenue decreased by 6.21% to RMB 248.56 billion, and net profit attributable to shareholders fell by 19.46% to RMB 6.03 billion. The decline in financial performance was attributed to various factors, including a decrease in domestic contract values.
The company’s total assets saw a slight increase of 0.70% compared to the end of the previous year, reaching RMB 2.27 trillion. Despite the challenging quarter, China Railway Group managed to secure significant new contracts, particularly in overseas markets, where the value of newly signed contracts increased by 33.4%. However, the overall value of new contracts decreased by 9.9% year-on-year.
