An announcement from China Everbright ( (HK:0257) ) is now available.
China Everbright Environment Group has completed the issuance of its 2026 green medium-term notes (Series 2), designated as a carbon neutrality bond, in the domestic interbank market in China. The three-year RMB2 billion notes, carrying a 1.67% annual coupon and issued at par, were publicly placed with institutional investors via a centralised book-building process led by Everbright Securities, alongside China Merchants Bank and Bank of Beijing as joint lead underwriters.
Proceeds from the issue, completed on 23 April 2026 with interest commencing on 27 April 2026 and repayment due on 27 April 2029, will be used entirely to redeem the company’s existing domestic perpetual medium-term notes. The transaction helps the group optimise its capital structure and potentially lower funding costs, while reinforcing its use of labelled green and carbon-neutral instruments in line with China’s policy focus on sustainable finance.
