Charter Communications ( (CHTR) ) has provided an update.

On May 15, 2026, Charter Communications entered into a new employment agreement with Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Jamal Haughton, extending his role through May 15, 2028 and setting an annual base salary of at least $825,000 with a target cash bonus of 160% of salary. Beginning in 2027, he will receive at least $4 million in annual equity awards, and on May 15, 2026 he was granted a $656,250 top-up equity award that cliff vests after three years, reinforcing long-term alignment with shareholders.

The agreement preserves his participation in standard executive benefits and expense reimbursement, while defining a severance package of two times salary plus target bonus, prorated bonus, COBRA-related cash payments and outplacement services if he is terminated without cause, leaves for good reason or the term is not renewed. In return, Haughton is bound by confidentiality, non-disparagement, intellectual property, two-year noncompete and one-year nonsolicitation covenants, underscoring Charter’s focus on retaining key legal talent and protecting its competitive and regulatory position.

The most recent analyst rating on (CHTR) stock is a Hold with a $210.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Charter Communications stock, see the CHTR Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on CHTR Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, CHTR is a Neutral.

The score is held back primarily by financial risk and trend pressure: high leverage and weakening revenue signals reduce flexibility despite solid margins and cash generation. Technically, the stock remains in a pronounced downtrend (well below major moving averages). Offsetting these risks are a very low P/E and an earnings-call outlook that is cautiously constructive longer term (mobile momentum, improved video trends, and higher Cox synergy expectations) despite near-term competitive and cost headwinds.
