Centamin PLC has announced that its acquisition by AngloGold Ashanti PLC, initially agreed upon on 10 September 2024, has received approval from the Egyptian Competition Authority, satisfying a major condition of the transaction. The completion of the deal, to be conducted via a court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement, is still subject to other conditions and the sanction of the Jersey Court. The acquisition timeline remains as previously detailed by Centamin.
