Capcom Reports Decreased Earnings Amid Strategic Growth

In its latest earnings report for the six months ending September 30, 2024, Capcom reported noticeable declines across key financial metrics compared to the previous year. Capcom’s consolidated net sales for the period were 56,402 million yen, marking a 24.7% decrease from the previous year. The company’s operating income also fell by 38.7% to 20,726 million yen, while ordinary income decreased by 42.7% to 20,706 million yen. Although net income attributable to owners of the parent dropped by 39.6%, Capcom achieved robust catalog sales, particularly in its Digital Contents business, demonstrating the enduring popularity of titles such as Monster Hunter and Resident Evil.

Looking ahead, Capcom remains committed to its growth strategy, focusing on digital sales and strategic brand expansions. The company plans to continue leveraging its popular IPs through diverse channels, including esports and merchandise, anticipating a steady trajectory towards achieving its full-year financial targets.
