Cambi ASA has launched a new thermal hydrolysis process (THP) plant at BIOFOS’ Damhusåen wastewater facility in Copenhagen, which will significantly boost local sustainable biogas production and contribute to Copenhagen’s CO2 neutrality goals. The THP system, enhancing biogas production and energy efficiency, is a crucial step in managing increased wastewater volume due to population growth and climate change. Preliminary results show a reduction in sludge transport and the full integration of the plant is expected soon, with renovations to follow through 2027.
