Compania de Minas Buenaventura SAA, Peru’s largest precious metals mining company, has temporarily suspended ore processing at its El Brocal facility due to unauthorized entry by a local community group, while mining operations continue as usual with ore stockpiled for later processing. The company is engaged in discussions with the community for a peaceful resolution and remains committed to safety. Despite the suspension, Buenaventura continues to operate several mines in Peru and holds a significant share in the country’s mining industry.
