BSP Financial Group Ltd. has appointed former Nedbank Group executive Ray Naicker as Group Chief Information Officer, subject to regulatory approval, with his tenure expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026. Naicker, who previously held senior roles in technology and digital transformation at one of South Africa’s largest financial services groups, will report to Group Chief Executive Officer Mark Robinson and lead BSP’s technology strategy across Papua New Guinea and the wider South Pacific.

The appointment signals BSP’s intent to accelerate its modernisation and digital innovation agenda, including the use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence to enhance customer service, risk management and financial performance. As part of the leadership reshuffle, current CIO Richard Nicholls will move to oversee implementation of BSP’s new core banking platform for its Pacific markets, a shift that underscores the bank’s focus on strengthening its technology foundations and supporting growth across the region.
