Brookfield Reinsurance’s subsidiary, American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company, has received a credit rating upgrade from S&P to ‘A’, reflecting the subsidiary’s importance and benefit from Brookfield’s strong financials. Additionally, the acquisition of American Equity Investment Life Holding Company has led to increased ratings for senior bonds and preferred shares. Fitch Ratings also upgraded the company’s senior unsecured notes and preferred shares.
