Brookfield Renewable has acquired a 12.45% stake in four of Ørsted’s operational UK offshore wind farms, marking its first investment in UK offshore wind. This $2.3 billion deal represents a strategic partnership that will aid the UK’s renewable energy objectives, while allowing Ørsted to reinvest in new assets. The transaction is set to close by the end of 2024, pending regulatory approvals.
