Broadwind Energy ( (BWEN) ) has shared an announcement.

On April 30, 2026, Broadwind’s subsidiary Broadwind Heavy Fabrications sold its Abilene, Texas wind tower production facility, including real estate and related assets, to IES Infrastructure for up to $19.5 million in consideration, and entered a short-term, below-market leaseback expected to end by September 5, 2026 to complete existing orders and transition operations. The transaction, following the September 8, 2025 sale of its Manitowoc, Wisconsin facility, marks Broadwind’s strategic exit from the wind market, redeploying capital toward higher-margin power generation and critical infrastructure businesses, relocating its retained PRS operations, transferring most of the Abilene wind workforce to IES, and prompting the withdrawal of its previously issued 2026 financial guidance.

In 2025, the Abilene wind operations (excluding PRS) generated $56.3 million in revenue and $9.7 million in Adjusted EBITDA, underscoring the significance of the divested asset base. Management framed the move as a deliberate response to concentrated customer exposure, expiring federal wind incentives and excess U.S. tower capacity, positioning Broadwind as a pure-play precision manufacturer targeting growth in power grid and critical infrastructure markets while seeking to leverage roughly $300 million of net operating loss carryforwards through future acquisitions.

The most recent analyst rating on (BWEN) stock is a Buy with a $6.00 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Broadwind Energy stock, see the BWEN Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on BWEN Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, BWEN is a Neutral.

The score is held back primarily by weak cash generation (negative TTM operating and free cash flow) and bearish technical trend signals. These are partially offset by improving profitability trends and a stronger balance sheet, plus a constructive earnings call with reaffirmed guidance and strong backlog/order momentum; valuation is modestly supportive with a ~12.35 P/E.
