Braskem SA ( (BAK) ) has provided an update.

Braskem S.A. has released its quarterly information for the period ended March 31, 2026, accompanied by a review report from KPMG that covers both individual and consolidated interim financial statements. KPMG concluded that the statements were prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with Brazilian CPC 21 (R1), IAS 34, and Brazilian securities regulation requirements, and also found no material issues with the company’s statements of value added.

However, KPMG drew attention to severe balance sheet stress as of March 31, 2026, noting that Braskem’s current liabilities exceeded its total assets by R$2.7 billion at the parent level and R$10.7 billion on a consolidated basis, and that equity was negative by R$15.7 billion and R$16.2 billion, respectively. The auditor highlighted that these conditions create a material uncertainty that may cast significant doubt on Braskem’s ability to continue as a going concern, underscoring heightened financial risk for creditors, investors, and other stakeholders even though the review conclusion itself was not modified.

The most recent analyst rating on (BAK) stock is a Sell with a $3.20 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Braskem SA stock, see the BAK Stock Forecast page.

Spark’s Take on BAK Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, BAK is a Neutral.

The score is held down primarily by very weak financial performance (losses, negative cash flow, and a fragile balance sheet with negative equity and high debt). Earnings-call takeaways add material risk (downcycle, high leverage, restructuring uncertainty) but are partly mitigated by liquidity and demonstrated cost actions. Technicals are supportive of recent momentum but appear overbought, and valuation is constrained by negative earnings and no stated dividend yield.
