Stemcell United Ltd. ( (AU:BP8) ) has issued an update.

BPH Global Ltd has announced the successful completion of its initial six-month R&D program focused on extracting precious and rare earth minerals from the seaweed species Sesuvium portulacastrum. The research, conducted in collaboration with Temasek Innovation Holdings and Gaia Mariculture, confirmed that the seaweed acts as a hyperaccumulator of metals like gold, silver, copper, and lithium, especially in polluted water environments. Despite challenges in extracting specific metals using conventional methods, the biomass has been classified as ‘bio-ore,’ and future research will explore biological extraction techniques. The adaptability and resilience of the seaweed suggest potential for scalable deployment across diverse marine environments, offering promising implications for the company’s operations and industry positioning.
