Botala Energy Ltd. ( (AU:BTE) ) has shared an announcement.
Botala Energy has secured A$1.45 million from a new African cornerstone investor, who will hold about 7% of the company and become its third-largest shareholder. The placement lifts African ownership from roughly 5% to 12%, signalling growing regional confidence in the commercial potential of the Serowe Coal Bed Methane Project.
Proceeds from the placement, alongside earlier raisings, will fund efforts to prove sustained commercial gas flows at the Pitse Pilot and advance a Bankable Feasibility Study. Drilling of central production well 3.5B is progressing, with successful results expected to support reserves certification and justify modular LNG facilities targeting domestic and regional markets, while further capital is anticipated from ongoing talks with Botswana’s state minerals company.
