Borregaard ASA, a leading biorefinery, has secured its energy future by signing a long-term power purchase agreement with Hafslund, a Norwegian hydropower company, to last from 2025 to 2034. This deal guarantees an annual supply of 88 GWh of electricity, which will cover 10-15% of the energy needs for Borregaard’s Sarpsborg site.
