Boralex Inc. and Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation have closed a $202 million green loan financing for the 125 MW / 500 MWh Oxford Battery Energy Storage Project in South-West Oxford, Ontario. The financing, arranged by CIBC and National Bank of Canada, includes a construction loan that will convert to a five-year term facility, a bridge loan tied to investment tax credits, and a letter of credit line.

The Oxford project will be Boralex’s third battery storage asset in North America and strengthens both partners’ positions in Ontario’s fast-growing energy storage market. Executives from Boralex and SNGRDC said the deal underscores their strong partnerships and nearly $1 billion in recent Ontario financings, while enhancing the resilience and security of the province’s electricity grid and expanding Indigenous participation in renewable infrastructure.

Spark’s Take on BLX Stock

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, BLX is a Neutral.

The score is held down primarily by weak financial quality (sharp net income decline, high and rising leverage, and negative free cash flow). Technicals are supportive due to a strong uptrend but are tempered by overbought signals. Valuation is a major headwind given the extremely high P/E with only a modest dividend yield, while the earnings call was strategically constructive but flagged near-term pricing and production shortfalls.
