The latest announcement is out from Bloomsbury Publishing ( (GB:BMY) ).

Bloomsbury Publishing is restructuring its organisation and strengthening its leadership as it prepares for the next phase of growth in its academic, professional and consumer publishing businesses. The company is aligning its operations more closely with key markets and deepening its focus on international expansion, digital development and the use of artificial intelligence across its portfolio.

The publisher has appointed Academic & Professional Division head Jenny Ridout, who has led its AI initiatives and key technology partnerships, to the Board as an executive director. At the same time, Bloomsbury is moving from a central matrix model to three vertical business units—Global Academic & Professional, USA and Consumer UK—while consolidating core central functions under the Chief Finance & Operations Officer to drive agility, accountability and long-term growth.

Leadership changes include Ridout heading Bloomsbury Global Academic & Professional, Sabrina McCarthy leading Bloomsbury USA with broader responsibilities, and Kathleen Farrar becoming Managing Director of Consumer UK as Ian Hudson retires from his full-time role to serve as a strategic consultant. Management says the new structure is designed to better match its organisation to market opportunities, improve responsiveness to customer preferences and support sustained value creation for stakeholders.
