Banco Latinoamericano De Comercio ( (BLX) ) has shared an update.
For the first quarter ended March 31, 2026, Bladex reported net profit of $56.4 million, up 9% year-on-year, with earnings per share of $1.31 and an adjusted annualized return on equity of 14.2%, reflecting disciplined balance sheet growth and stronger fee generation. Net interest income rose 8% to $70.2 million despite mild margin compression from lower base rates and heightened competition, while fees and non-interest income increased on the back of higher off-balance sheet business and loan syndication activity.
The bank’s credit portfolio reached a record $13.5 billion, supported by double-digit growth in its commercial book and the launch of a new commercial bond portfolio, with asset quality remaining strong as 97.5% of exposures stayed in low-risk Stage 1 and impaired loans held at 0.3% of the total. Bladex also strengthened its funding profile, with deposits climbing 25% to $7.3 billion, liquidity at 14.5% of total assets, and capital ratios well above regulatory minimums, positioning the institution with ample capacity for further capital deployment and reinforcing its role in regional trade finance.
Spark’s Take on BLX Stock
According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, BLX is a Outperform.
BLX scores well on valuation (low P/E and solid dividend) and shows constructive technical strength with price above key moving averages. The main drag is financial volatility—especially the sharp 2025 revenue drop and inconsistent cash-flow history—partly balanced by a generally positive earnings-call outlook with reaffirmed guidance and strong capital/liquidity despite near-term margin and credit-classification pressures.
