Black Titan ( (BTTC) ) has provided an update.
During the week of April 7–13, 2026, the crypto payments sector showed signs of advancing beyond experimental pilots toward more institutional-grade infrastructure and oversight. Market activity centered on expanding stablecoin settlement rails, embedding crypto payment options into mainstream merchant platforms, and tightening regulatory frameworks in major jurisdictions.
On April 8, Circle launched CPN Managed Payments, a fully managed service on the Circle Payments Network that lets banks, fintechs, and enterprises access regulated USDC settlement without directly running blockchain infrastructure or holding digital assets. The product supports cross-border settlement, merchant acceptance, global payouts, and lower-friction FX, with Circle overseeing minting, burning, compliance, and underlying blockchain operations.
Thunes joined the CPN Managed Payments ecosystem the same week, enabling its global network across more than 140 countries and over 90 currencies to tap stablecoin-enabled settlement while keeping customers in fiat-based workflows. This integration underscores how stablecoin settlement is being embedded into established cross-border payments networks rather than remaining siloed from traditional financial rails.
Merchant adoption also progressed on April 7, when Paysafe introduced its Pay with Crypto service for U.S. iGaming and daily fantasy sports operators, powered by MoonPay. The service allows users to fund merchant accounts with USDC, other stablecoins, and major cryptocurrencies, automatically converting deposits into U.S. dollars while preserving options for settlement in stablecoins or fiat.
Policymakers moved in parallel to refine the legal environment for payment stablecoins, particularly in the U.S. Between April 8 and April 10, the U.S. Treasury advanced implementation of the GENIUS Act by proposing anti-money-laundering and sanctions-compliance requirements for permitted stablecoin issuers and launched a cybersecurity information-sharing initiative that extends threat intelligence access to eligible digital asset firms.
Outside the U.S., Hong Kong marked a notable regulatory milestone on April 10 when the Hong Kong Monetary Authority granted its first stablecoin issuer licences to Anchorpoint Financial Limited and HSBC. Both firms initially plan to issue Hong Kong dollar-referenced stablecoins aimed at cross-border and local payments, tokenised asset trading, conditional payments, and supply-chain finance, positioning Hong Kong at the forefront of moving from policy design to live stablecoin issuance.
Overall, Black Titan’s April 16, 2026 research note argues that these developments collectively indicate a transition toward more mature, institution-ready crypto payment infrastructure. The sector remains short of full-scale global deployment, but growing managed settlement offerings, merchant integrations, and concrete regulatory measures suggest increasing compatibility with institutional requirements and real-world payment flows.
